March Break in Toronto!
At long last, we can see the light at the end of this winter tunnel, and March Break is upon us! Your little ones are probably already excited to have a break from school and daycare to spend time with family and friends. Toronto has a lot going on this March Break season, and we’ve rounded up some of the fun and exciting events going on in our neighbourhood and beyond!

King’s Court – Casa Loma
Casa Loma is a great attraction at any time of the year — but this year during March Break, when you visit you will have the chance to be transported back in time to the medieval era of fairytale castles, knights, princes, princesses and more! All types of chivalrous heroes are welcome. There will be games, puzzles, interactive theatre, crafts and many other fun activities to partake in while your little ones learn about medieval times! As a special bonus there will even be a sing along with Cinderella! King’s Court runs from March 14th to March 22nd from 9:30am to 5:00 pm. Beneath the Banyan Tree — Artscape Wychwood Barns
Wychwood Barns is a great resource for art and culture, and they are always doing something educational and fun for the community. This March Break, take your little one to see ‘Beneath the Banyan Tree’ by Theatre Direct! This production is for young people, and incorporates theatre, contemporary and classical Bharatanatyam dance to tell the story of Anjali, a young girl adjusting to a new life in Canada. Tickets range from $7 to $14. This production is sure to engage your little one as they learn about culture and society. For more info, visit the website here.
March Break Music Camp — University of Toronto Schools
The University of Toronto Schools are offering full day programming for children in grades 4 to 8 from March 16th to March 20th to learn about the world of music! These fun filled, musical days will include learning wind instruments, string instruments, percussion, the ukulele, musical theatre and more. This event is a great event if your child has shown some interest in instruments or if they are already playing and looking to meet friends who share their interests. March Break Drop-In Family Fun — AGO
If you’re looking to foster your little one’s creative side this March Break, stop by the AGO March 14th until March 22nd from 10:00am to 4:00pm for a world of fun! This is a great family event, with activities for all ages. Unique events such as beat boxing and skipping rope performances as well as Create-Your-Own-Graffiti and the new Kids’ Gallery Exhibition, “Pets and Me”, ensure that there is something fun for everyone to do this break. There is also drop-in creative playtime for young children, where they will be making stamp art and collages, among other things! Check out the AGO’s website for more information.
Brain: The Inside Story — Ontario Science Centre
Taking a break from school doesn’t mean that learning has to stop! To keep your child’s brain active, exercised and ready to go back to school, drop by the Ontario Science Centre and have a look at the Brain: The Inside Story exhibit. This interactive exhibit takes you on a journey through the human brain and teaches you all about our neural processes! There are puzzles and games along the way that will challenge your brain as you learn how it works. This exhibit has been running since November 29th, 2014 and will close March 29th 2015. March Break Open House — Kidnasium
If you missed out on sign ups for Kidnasium’s March Break camp, never fear! They will be holding an open house on March 18th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. This is a free, drop-in event. There will be snacks and loads of fun and games in the Kidnasium gym! Let your little ones run wild while you socialize with other parents and get the chance to check out the great facilities and activities at Kidnasium — and even enter yourself in a draw to win a Birthday Party!
