Beach fun
The Scarborough Bluffs are a beautiful site featuring views of the cliffs behind the beach and gorgeous blue waters, it is hard to believe you aren’t up north. Located on the shores of Lake Ontario The Bluffs is a gorgeous location for a family beach day. There is also a variety of different things to do and see including a marina, parks, swimming, fishing, and picnic areas! Most importantly The Bluffs is a blue flag beach which means that the beach meets very strict standards water quality, environmental management, and safety and services. So no need to worry, the Bluffs are completely safe!
Pirate Ship Ride
Let your children’s imagination set sail with a real pirate ship ride on Lake Ontario to Centre Island. Get dressed in your favourite pirate outfit or borrow some costumes they have on the ship! once you board the ship get ready for a full pirate adventure which includes pirate school where the crew shows you the pirate way of life, discover the mysteries of treasure island, and fire the water cannons! Canadian National Exhibition (CNE)
The CNE is on the must list of places to go this summer. The CNE only comes once a year from August 19th- September 5th, trust me this one you don’t want to miss, the kids will LOVE it. The CNE is much more than just an amusement park, it has rides, games, LOTS of food, air shows, animals, performers, parades and so much more! for more information check out their website www.theex.com
Evergreen Brick Works Family Scavenger Hunt
Get outside and explore the outdoors with the Evergreen Brick Works by doing a scavenger hunt. They offer two different scavenger hunts for children ages 3-6 and 7-10. The scavenger hunt can be done anytime within the business hours and will last from July 9- August 31st.
Gardening in High Park
Let your little one explore their inner green thumb this summer at High park which offers an amazing gardening program free of charge for children ages 0-12. The program welcomes free family drop-ins every Thursday 10-12 until August 31st. Rainy Days
There is always some rainy days throughout the summer, and for that reason we have a perfect indoor activity for those days! The Royal Ontario Museum is a great place for the young minds to grow and explore. The ROM has many hands on exhibits for children to learn and play. The CIBC Discovery Gallery is a dedicated kids zone with so much for children to learn and discovery. This gallery features three different themed children galleries with hands on activities such as trying on costumes, digging for dinosaur bones, and discovering fossils. There is even a designated pre school area with puzzles toys and costumes. The Patrick and Barbara Keenan Gallery of Hands-on Biodiversity is another hands-on gallery that is a family-friendly interactive space to explore plenty of plants and animals such a touchable shark jaw, a fox’s den and other touchable specimens! http://www.rom.on.ca/en/exhibitions-galleries
